THINK PINK – Weds 13th October
October 18th, 2010New member Emma Penn tells how the St Albans Circle get together for a night of fun and fundraising with a chocolate fountain and ‘Spot the Intro’ quiz night.
Adorned with my pink feather boa and fluffy pink head boppers, I was off out the door ready to embark on ‘Think Pink’ night in aid of Breast Cancer awareness month (http://www.wearitpink.co.uk)
Having joined only 6 weeks ago, I still don’t know all the members, but as everyone is so warm and friendly I was excited to meet them again and see who else might have joined the realm of the Ladies Circle!
The night was advertised as a ‘Spot the intro’ quiz, with snippets of music from the 80’s and 90’s and some even earlier than that (she say’s very quietly trying not to show her age!). The idea was to guess the film or TV series the song was from and name the song, artist or even year for super bonus points!…. armed with my pen and paper I was off, even surprising myself with how many of them I knew, and surprised also how bad I was at recognising those songs which all young vivacious 70’s children should know…..Madonna’s Like a Virgin!.
After accumulating a very respectable 27.5 points it was off to stick my head in the chocolate fountain…ahem…I mean delicately place small marshmallows and meringue pieces into the warm molten chocolate of the oh so lovely pink chocolate fountain…I mean what more can a girl ask for!…well actually, there is more……..as a member who joined 6 weeks ago I hadn’t yet been inducted into the Ladies Circle, so Monika the fabulous Chair of the St Albans Ladies Circle presented me with a lovely certificate confirming my membership into the group, together with badge and the quarterly magazine….at last I am a fully fledged member :0)
After lots of giggles and eyebrows full of chocolate it was sadly time to say goodnight to yet another absolutely fabulous evening with the St Albans Ladies Circle.
A huge thank you to Angela for hosting and Sharon for organising yet again another fabulous girlie night in.
