Cocktail Making Masterclass at Mokoko, 23rd September 2011

According to the National Ladies Circle Website, there is a perception that Ladies Circle is all about Jam and Jerusalem. Well here in St Albans Ladies Circle, we are less about Jam and Jerusalem and more about Mojito’s and Martinis, so when we were offered a fantastic deal by Mokoko in St Albans to have a private cocktail making class, many of our members jumped at the chance of a night out, Sex and the City style.

Our masterclass was held on the patio, where a Mokoko staff member well versed  in cocktail making took us through the ropes. First up was the mojito.  We watched a demonstration and then each had a go at free pouring to perfect our technique before being let loose with the alcohol. After some practice, we got down to business and each made our own Mojito. Apparently the key to a great mojito is having equal amounts of all the ingredients.  You can also change the taste depending on if you prefer sour or sweet by the amount of sugar water added.

Next followed another cocktail, which we all took turns and had lots of fun making, and this was finished off by a round of delicious porn star martinis and tapas, divine. Everyone had a great night and I think a trip back to Mokoko for more cocktails is definitely a must.
